Bajrami blames Kurti Government for mismanagement, while he says this fact is disturbing.
“This bitter reality is a direct result of the government's continuing failure to undertake significant economic reforms and to create an environment that promotes private sector growth and development”, Bajrami writes.
Total:
According to World of Statistics, Kosovo is the poorest country in Europe after Ukraine, which now two and a half years is at war with Russia
It's as different as it is, because four years of capital investments as a percentage of budgets are at the lowest levels in history, prices are high, public procurement is negotiation between friends, employment is nepotism, education is the failure of management of crises created by the government itself.
There is no fiscal response, there is no reform in the ambent of doing business, rather any law regulating the economic issues the government has changed is contrary to the Constitution, specifically to its Article 10.
It is very disturbing that Kosovo despite its potential is one of the poorest countries in Europe, the second after war-torn Ukraine. This bitter reality is the direct result of the government's continuing failure to undertake significant economic reforms and to create an environment that promotes private sector growth and development.
The security situation in the country, the lack of co-ordination with the aneta, especially for the security situation, continuous statements of crime, corruption and potential for war on the part of the heads of state have only done harm to our country's economy.
Then the lack of needed fiscal reforms impedes meted out economic development.
The current tax system is not compatible with developments in recent times, the recent fiscal reform in the country occurred in 2016. Here I must point to the fact that the Kosovo Tax Administration, which a mandate is led by a man without a mandate, the total lack of compensation for the finance minister, who has not even been able to implement this point of law.
The current tax system and recent changes to some of the fiscal/donal and import regulations have marked reggressions viewed from the business perspective. According to business associations, the current tax system is neither competitive with the region, nor encouraging to domestic investors or outside investors. Without a modern, fair and efficient tax structure, Kosovo remains not attractive to investors, counting in the country or being brought into the cycle of poverty and economic stagnation.
Businesses welcome grants and subsidies, but with grants and subsidies the government always helps only a very small number of them, because it is practically impossible to support all companies, but with good fiscal policies, business reform, bureau elimination and fighting corruption, the government can help all companies, which this government has never done during this mandate.
Capital investments, which are essential for infrastructure development and long-term economic growth, during this mandate have been almost in existence. The government has failed to realise its budgeted products, focused on secret tenders, has given no priority to implementing necessary projects that would create jobs, improve public services and increase the quality of life for all citizens. At the same time, corruption levels are disturbing, with tenders given without transparency, without competition, destroying the trust of citizens and businesses in public institutions and diverting funds that could have been used for the common good.
Meanwhile, inflation continues to increase by continually reducing citizens' purchasing power and making it even more difficult for families to afford living expenses. The government's lack of effective economic policies to address inflation is pushing more and more people into poverty.
Education as the foundation of any prosperous society remains weak and completely out of focus.
Our schools and universities are underfunded, teachers are not paid to be motivated, and institutions of higher education in the country are failing to prepare quarts for the labour market and for the challenges of time. The assumption that the government is making education is leading us to a future where our young people are unable to contribute or compete in the local economy and leave that global economy anymore.
February 9th is coming.
