350 euros were not signaled to the private sector ? Union demands 500 euros in minimum wage, says government decision is pre-election.

The Kosovo government today decided to raise the mini-commation salary to 350 euros for workers of all ages. This increase took place just days after the Law on the minimum wage went into effect, which raised a minimum wage to 264 gross euros for all employees in the public sector [...]

The Independent Private Sector Union (SPSP) has not welcomed this.

In a proposal for Periscope, Yusuf Azemi has said that under 500 euros they do not see well on the minimum wage, especially after price hikes in recent months.

He even said that this government decision is seen as pre-election.

And we've said that for even 10 cents to change something, we appreciate it, but until we have minimum wages under 500 euros, and especially over these six months under that amount, we can't consider it to be well paid, and this salary is more like pre-election decisions, which I don't believe will have effect, I think it will have the effect like the salary of 264 euros, which hasn't started yet to be implemented, it's not being implemented, and that's just to say that they're doing something <x1, he said Periscope.

For this government decision, the chairman of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has also reacted.

It has called the “down” the minimum wage of 350 euros that was set by the Government on Wednesday.

According to him, the Kurti Government has made this decision “under a campaign for elections”, adding that it always comes out on the eve of elections.

The minimal “Page now must be 450 euros, which on the first day of the new government -- at least 500 euros -- naturally marking annual growth, given economic growth and inflation -- and at this minimum wage all pension categories should be included. The countries of the region, since recently passed the minimum wage threshold of 500 euros, while this prime minister, has not only been delayed with salary increases for four years, but even today the minimum wage considers social assistance”, Haradinaj has said.

While, Kosovo Democratic Party Co-ordinator for Finance under the Cabinet for Good Governance, Arben Mustafa, has said this increase will not change citizens' lives due to increased prices.

This news would have taken more place four years ago when the mandate began, but now in these terms of increased prices, it is unknown who will change the life of this” decision, he wrote on Facebook.

The new minimum wage would affect around 150,000 employed, who work on wages lower than 350 euros, mainly in the private sector, according to Kurti and Kosovo Finance Minister Hekuran Murati.

The decision to raise the minimum wage will take effect on 1 October. /Periscopi
