Prime Minister Edi Rama has welcomed the re-election of Ursula Von Der Leenen at the helm of the European Commission, naming it the beginning of a new chapter for the European Union.
Through a post on social networks, Rama says she lauds Von Der Leyeen's stance on the Western Balkans regarding the integration of these countries into the European Union.
The European Parliament's “Votta for the re-election of Ursula Von Der Leyen is a powerful statement marking the beginning of a new chapter in governing the Union with a revivalal entry. Albania welcomes this declaration with renewed hope and full trust in the Ursula leadership. We praise its clear stand for the Western Balkans in its speech to the European Parliament today. I look forward to continuing working with the Commission's president to bring Albania into the EU and further integrate the EU with the Western Balkans”, Rama writes on X.
