Five people lost their lives and 15 others were injured after the Russian attacks Saturday and night in the eastern region of Donetsk in Ukraine, its governor said.
Shortly after Donnetsk Governor Vadym Filashkin announced the victims Sunday, other local Ukrainian officials said Russian attacks injured more civilians in the east and south.
At least eight people were injured after Moscow's forces hit Ukraine's eastern town of Nikopol on Sunday, local governor Serhii Lysak announced. He said a baby and a 10-year-old girl were among the victims. The six wounded are in the hospital.
Russian attacks on Sunday also injured eight other civilians, including a 10-year-old and two teenagers, in a village in Ukraine's Kherson region, local official Roman Mrochko reported.
Russia began its aggression in Ukraine in February 2022, forcing millions to flee to neighboring countries. Taking control of all Donnetsk is one of the main goals of the Kremlin war. / VOA
