Instead of criticising the current president, Joe Biden, he said he would deliver messages of unity.
This will be a very different speech. This is an opportunity to unite the country. I've been given this option”, Trump told the Washington Examiner newspaper.
Trump arrived in the state of Wisconsin, where the Republican Party Convention works from today to July 18th.
At this event, Trumpit is expected to confirm the party's nomination as presidential candidate in the November 5th election.
He's giving the speech Thursday. It is also expected to let him know who his deputy candidate will be.
Trump, 78, was shot in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday.
His alleged attacker, Thomas Crooks, 20, was shot and killed by the Secret Service, but his motive remains unclear.
A spectator was killed by the shooting, while two others were seriously injured.
Speaking to the Washington Examiner newspaper, Trump said evidence of what happened in Pennsylvania is being collected.
