The armed attacker says the American security authorities that fired on former US President Donald Trump was a 20-year-old registered Republican voter who had previously made a small contribution by donating a sum of money for a group linked to the Democrats, the public data said.
Thomas Matthew Crooks lived in Pittsburg on the outskirts of Bethel Park, about 35 miles south of the site where he carried out the shooting on Trump, transmits Telegrafi.
He graduated from Bethel Park in 2022 and was registered as a Republican voter based on the records of voters in Pennsylvania that adapted the data to his name and age.
This year's US presidential election would be the first in which he would be eligible to vote.
According to data from the Federal Election Commission, Thomas Croux figured on the donors' list of a small group linked to the Democrats, for which he had donated $15 in a January 2021 project.
Contacted by CNN, Crook's father, Matthew Crooks, said he was trying to understand that “what the hell happened to”, but that he would expect to be promoted after talking to the law force.
Criux fired rifles on Trump from the roof of an object before he was killed by Secret Service agents and other law enforcement forces.
In those moments, he hadn't had any identification tools, so agents had to wait for the DNA test and biometric confirmation. FBI Special Agent Kevin Guard confirmed this during a news conference.
