Chief negotiators Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovovic will go to Brussels tomorrow for a meeting at which, as EU spokesman Peter Stano said, will be the emergency implementation of the Agreement on the road to normalisation of relations“between Kosovo and Serbia.
Asked by journalists for mutual recognition, Stano said the goal of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is “the abnormalisation of reports”, the Express reported.
This task is given by the EU as a mandate for dialogue facilitators. So the mandate is to help both sides normalise the reports. Recognition is not part of the mandate. Of course, the logical consistency of normalization would be recognition. But this is something far away on the path to the” process, Stano said.
He confirmed that tomorrow there will be a meeting between the chief negotiators, as warned by European Union for Foreign Policy and Security High Representative Josep Borrell last Wednesday after meetings with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbia's president, Alexadar Vuciq. He missed a trilateral meeting.
