Fico, 59, was shot closely on May 15th in a central Slovakia town and underwent two long operations.
The armed person, identified by Slovak media as Juraj Cintula, 71, is in custody pending trial.
Slovak media wrote that Fico, who is often criticised by the European Union because of nationalist trends, went to his cabinet meeting through a tunnel to avoid journalists.
Dear progressive and opposition liberal media, I apologize that I survived, but I returned”, Fico wrote on Facebook, posting a photo in his office.
When Fico took office last autumn, Slovakia has refused to continue military aid to Ukraine, which has been fighting against the Russian occupation since 2022.
Fico himself has supported the peace talks with Russia.
He was released from the hospital on 31 May, while his first public appearance was at a ceremony near Bratislava last Friday.
