Daniel Serwer, American professor at Johns Hopkins University, has talked about the dynamics of political developments connected between Kosovo and Serbia.
American professor Daniel Serwr commenting on the dynamics of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, said his orientation should be towards more practical issues.
There are many practical issues that need to be found between Kosovo and Serbia. I believe the technical dialogue, what was before 2013, was clearly much more successful than the political dialogue that has taken place since. So I don't think we should be limited to technical or economic issues, but there are many practical issues that would also be technical and economical that would be able to find solutions”, Serwer told RTK.
Serwer stressed that it is very clear that Serbia and Kosovo are not interested in normalising relations between the two states.
I think it's quite clear that neither the authorities of Serbia nor the Kosovo authorities are ready for normalisation of relations. The goal of the dialogue should be a permanent legal solution between Kosovo and Serbia. But obviously, we're still not ready for such a thing”, Cerer said.
Meanwhile, how much elections in the European Union will affect the dialogue process, he stressed that the names to come at the helm of the EU are difficult to talk about currently.
I think Borrell has not been so successful in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue. However, the change in the EU is welcomed, especially if the change is made with a man who is closer to Kosovo”, the Cererer.
