President invites party leaders for consultations over election date

In the letter, which has been sent to party leaders, Osmani has stated that given the Constitution and the Law for General Elections, the elections should be held during January 26th- February 16th 2025.
“in this direction, based on my constitutional competencies for declaring elections for the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo, is invited to a consultative meeting on July 31, 2024, at 2: 00 p.m. at the S301 Hall, at the Assembly Building of the Republic of Kosovo”, says in the letter provided by the “Betim for Justice”.

The last national elections were held on February 14, 2021, when the Vetevendosje Movement came first with more than 50 per cent of the vote. The second party was PDK, the third to LDK, and the fourth to the AAK. Fatmir Limaj's party had failed to pass the election threshold.
Vetevendosje had won the coalition elections with the “Gux” established by Vjosa Osmani, now president of the Republic. Finally,
Prime Minister Albin Kurti had invited political parties for a meeting, where the election theme was opened. Only the leader had gone there PDK, Memli Krasniqi, who had called for holding elections during June. The LDK and AAK had not agreed to go to the polls, disseminating the Parliament, but demanded the government's resignation.
