The president of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu, has formally invited political party leaders to meet on July 31st in consultations on setting the date of parliamentary elections. Attending the meeting has confirmed the LDK leader, who at that meeting will reveal his party's position.

In his letter to party leaders, Osmani has declared that based on the Constitution and Law for General Elections, elections should be held through January 26th- February 16th 2025.

In this direction, based on constitutional competencies for declaring elections for the Republic of Kosovo Assembly, the president has invited to the consultative meeting on July 31, 2024, at 2: 00 a.m. at the Assembly Building of the Republic of Kosovo.

LDK spokesman Besian Mustafa has confirmed that they have received the letter from the president and that party chairman Lumir Abdijdzic will go to the meeting and that he will reveal the party's position, Telegrafi writes.

So far, early elections have required all parties ( LV V, PDK, LDK and AAK), but have failed to find a consensus on how to reach them.

In May of this year, the Democratic Party of Kosovo was of reconciliation that in the elections be taken through the distribution of the Assembly, but not also the Democratic League of Kosovo and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo.

The AAK's LDK initially wanted Prime Minister Albin Kurti's resignation.

The last national elections were held on February 14, 2021, when the Vetevendosje Movement came first with more than 50 per cent of the vote. The second party was PDK, the third to LDK, and the fourth to the AAK.
