The office says if there was a Military Police Director before November of 1998, he'd be aware.

In Kosovo Specialised Chambers ( DPSK) in The Hague is continuing testimony to witness Bislim Office in the trial of Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi. The office said that if there were Military Police Director before November 1998, he would have known. The office is being questioned by the body [...]
The office is being questioned by the trial panel represented by Judge Guénawl Mettraux, who asked the witness about Jakup Krasniqi's book, which showed that some directors had existed during the summer of KLA, reports the “Battle for Justice“.
According to the judge, the book says that the Political Directorate, Directorate Operative, Information Service Directorate, Police Directorate, Public Information, Directorate for Economics and Finance, and the Directorate of Logistics.
I'm not going to talk to you by the book, that I said even earlier that they're overreacting. As we take a look at the structure now, the next structure, indicated by Mr. Rexhep Selimi, does not correspond to each other. Now one of them is wrong. Second; The Military Police Directorate, if it existed at least I would be coordinating them, I would have known who's in that direction. I would have worked with them about how the Director of Operations has had to work with all the directors, coordinate jobs to prepare an operation or work in terms of training or professionalism or operation. I have not seen this director, nor do I know who they were, nor have they existed in terms of training, nor have anyone written them to explain the”, said the Office.
Afterward, Judge Mettraux told the witness whether there was any explanation for the fact that he said there was not at the time the director of the Military Police, while statements were issued by the director even during October of 1998.
And what I know is that the statements that were issued in October of 1998 is that I have these sessions that you have the market, I don't know that they have Albanian or they gave from this Police Director that if I had given it back at the time I would have asked who it is and that I would be co-ordination with them. Now they either keep this before I know it, or I don't have a market structure, and I haven't seen the Police Directorate or the Inspector. Talk about what I know “, the witness answered.
He has denied that he knew they had issued press statements by the Military Police Directorate.
I've seen these statements when you present during these trials that were issued in November or when they're off. I didn't see them before that I would have asked who it is, if you didn't know”, the Office said.
In the case of Blerim Kuci the witness said he was unaware of who decided to arrest him.
The witness's response was not heard when it was asked which of the two accused (Selim and Krasniqi) as well as Limaj had the competence according to him to arrest Blerim Kuci.
For the KLA, the witness said it is correct to say that when a director was created, even the director who would lead
“After the director is determined, then the director determines his staff”, the Office said.
Prior to that, the witness was asked whether he knew on which basis Limaj was declared innocent in his trial.
“I don't know on which basis, yes, evidence, I've been (proof)”, the Office said.
He said he has no knowledge of which other persons have testified in the trial of Limaj over the period of establishment of the Military Police Directorate.
The “E know that there were others, but that who had failed in this direction does not know”, he said. The office office said it has no knowledge that two of the witnesses in the matter were Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi.
The Witness said that the inspector general The KLA is scheduled for November, namely after the army's restructuring. He said neither the Political Directorate nor the Military Police existed before November of 1998, except for finance.
Before the office witness's testimony began, the court approved the defendant's request for changing several procedural terms.
The trial “Trup thinks valid reasons have been given to approve changes in the deadlines so that defence can respond to SPS motions as well as change the deadline for reviewing transcripts. Initially, the court approves under rule 9 (5) the changes in the deadlines. First, for any request to accept witness statements under the 154 rule for witnesses to be submitted after September 5th, 2024, but requirements must be handed over before the court stops. The court approves the defense requirement to increase the deadline in order to counter motions by August 23, 2024. The court stresses that this did not include the answers to the requests for accepting witness statements under the 154 rule, which are scheduled for the first bloc after the court's 19 August to 15 September. The defence will respond to these requirements in line with deadlines that are envisioned in regulation”, Judge Charles Smith III said.
Later, Smith III gave the order to increase the deadline to respond to SPS motions, as well as the deadline for handing over their next non-goal motion.
“Secon second: for any request for accepting statements based on the 153 rule handed over before the court breaks, the court approves the defence requirement for adding the deadline to respond to the prosecution's motions by Friday 30 August 2024. Third: for the upcoming informal motion by the prosecution, which is supposed to surrender before the court's dismissal. The court approves the extension of the deadline and subsequently postpones it for August 23rd 2024, which is Friday”, the judge said.
And finally, Smith III changed the deadline for the parties to hand in their statements regarding revisions of transcripts that are carried out in the court's dismissal.
“S 4th; any transcriptal revision that is designed to be carried out during the court's break, the court changes the deadline for parties and participants in order to make their statements by September 13th 2024”, he said.
At this hearing, all the accused are present in the courtroom.
