Kosovo's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said the fingerprints that Serbian authorities sent Monday, allegedly to be of the person killed in Serbia last week, adapt to Faton Hajriz's.
Through a media communique, MPJD reports that Serbian authorities have sent fingerprints to a person who, along with Hajriz's fingerprints, has been forwarded to the Kosovo Agency for Forenzice.
After comparison, the International Police Co-operation Directorate I LECU has received answers that these tracks belong to Hayriz.
“Regarding Serbia's alleged murder of Kosovo citizen in Serbia, we inform public opinion that we have just been notified by the International Police Co-operation Directorate I Kosovo Police's LECU that Serbian authorities, on the date 22/07/2024, have sent fingerprints to one person and the same marks along with Kosovo citizen Faton Hajrizi's fingerprints, have been forwarded to the Kosovo Agency for Forenzice, where, after comparison by the AKF, I LECU has received answers that these traces belong to the reported citizen as killed, Faton Hajrizi”, said in notification.
The MPJD further urged the opinion that all these news from Serbia be taken in reserve until their full confirmation.
We remember that according to information issued by Serbia's Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, Faton Hajrizi was killed on 19 July by Serbian police during the attempt to arrest him, following the assassination of Serbian police in Loznica on July 18th.
Kosovo authorities have indicated they are waiting for answers to confirm the identity of the person killed in Serbia and facilitate procedures for the return of the lifeless body.
