The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, attended the memorial event of the genocide in Srebrenica, organised in the History Institute hall, reports by the prime minister.
In his address, in the name of the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, Kurti reportedly expressed solidarity and full support for the Bosnian people.
“29 years ago, one of the greatest horrors of genocide in Europe took place in the small town of Srebrenica. 8372 Bosnian men and boys were brutally murdered. This crime left open wounds for thousands of Bosnian families, as it left open wounds on mankind's conscience. Therefore, each anniversary is renewed pain, not only for the Bosniak people, but also for us, the people of Kosovo, which 25 years ago we have experienced the horrors of war”, Kurti said.
Furthermore, it became known that the head of the government added that the massacre in Srebrenica was and the warning of Serbia's genocide project in Kosovo, where from 1998 to 1999, over 13 thousand Kosovo Albanians were killed, over 1 million were expelled from their homes, about 1600 are still undiscovered, and about 20 thousand women and girls, but men and boys are survivors of sexual rape.
He recalled that today the Government of the Republic of Kosovo has proclaimed 11 July memorial days in memory of the Srebrenica genocide, adding: “Genocide in Srebrenica reminds us of our common wounds, wounds that are still young, as are hundreds of empty graves.
After all, we remember the ethnic ideology used by Serbia in Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo. The notorious “unit Scorpions”, who has participated in the Srebrenica massacre, is the same as committed massacres in Kosovo. Among them, the massacre on the family of our Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Saranda Boguyevci, who was killed by 16 family members, while surviving 16 bullets in her body when she was only 14 years old, he stressed.
Kurti further underlined that as they continue to deny genocide and depletion of violence, Milosevic's political descendants, who lead with Serbia, revive expansionist ambitions towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also Kosovo. So, for victims and survivors who killed their most expensive, we can't forget. In the name of justice, peace, reconciliation, preservation of truth, we must remember”, Prime Minister Kurti concluded his word.
