Kurt in “The York Times” never mentioned the word “genocide” when speaking of Serbia's crimes in Kosovo

Serbia's true, true Denoncination “should contain the word genocide”. That had been the obvious response, aiming to deliver even greater messages than the very words uttered by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who had brought him to [...]

This had been the answer to what he was aiming to deliver a greater message even than the very words spoken by Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who had brought his interviewer to “Rubikon”, the Adriatic Kelmendi, when he had asked for a speech by Edi Rama to the United Nations Organisation denouncing war crimes against Albanians from Slobodan Milosevic's regime.

Without the word “genocide” in denouncing Serbia, Kurti returned it to Kelmendi, opposition to Serbia could therefore not have been true.

Serbia's “is one thing, criticism, opposition and true denouncing should also contain the word genocide”.

Hich farther than yesterday in an Op/Ed published in “The York Times”, author Albin Kurti; the latter held to itself the word “genocide” conducted by Serbia in Kosovo ʹ spoke of the campaign of ethnic cleansing, atrocities, massacres (them); but not the top word thus standing down in denounciation.

For philosopher Africa Kasolli, this discurs of a more-bound scale of ours “represents a gradual and continuous change that has occurred in Prime Minister Kurti since he came to power”.

“He had earlier, when asked for a possible genocide indictment against Serbia, as he had promised in the opposition, very sophisticatedly shifted the emphasis that Kosovo authorities are preparing for the prosecution of this state, for crimes committed during the war in Kosovo, without specifying the term genocide”, Kasoli told Nacionale.

Journalist Lirim Mehmetaj returned a speech to Albin Kurti how long he was in opposition that <x0th>genocide is the crime of the state of Serbia in Kosovo” and through a phrase he addressed then former Prime Minister Hashim Thaci, wrote that “actually poultry there, and this is Hawk”.

“Unlike the article in the New York Times, where it does not mention that Serbia committed genocide in Kosovo, here in the Kosovo Parliament, is incontinent in condemning genocide”, Mehmetaj said.

For African Casol significant in this context is the Basic Agreement itself for normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia that Kurti has accepted and where, from Preambulla, it is said, in completely sterile language, that <x0...contracts are dedicated to contributing to regional co-operation and prosperity and to overcome the legacy of the past”.

Thus, in this case it is evident that Prime Minister Kurti has agreed that normalisation with Serbia is passed by the international obligation of the state of Kosovo, not to address its genocide past. Therefore, the latest OP/ED in the New York Times, where the term genocide doesn't work, is only a logical consequence of this transformation and articulation before international media of the obligations it has made in the process of dialogue with Serbia facilitated by the European Union”, Africa Kasolli told us.

Kurti never filed genocide suit against Serbia

It has now been more than three years since Albin Kurti, with coming to the head of state for the second time, pledged that Serbia would internationally sue it for genocide against the Albanian population during the 1990s.

Even in terms of the very international legal definition, Kurti argued as if two-plus-two do four that Serbia -- namely, Slobodan Milosevic's regime -- has committed genocide against the Albanian population. This, for Kurt, was actually empirically, logically and even nominally Serbia's truth during 98-99 in Kosovo.

That this would be done for Kurt was a vow expressed almost on a weekly basis.

“Preparations for the indictment against Serbia are huge because such a case does not dare, neither should it, nor can it lose”, Kurti declared on May 7th of 2021), as prime minister of state.

Second after him in the Veteedje Movement, Kosovo Parliament Speaker Glauk Konjufca, two years later, in May of 2023BAR was saying that “we are very close to completing the processional indictment for genocide against Serbia”.

But that promise now appears nowhere in the phase of the end of the term.

However, an apparent change in Kurti's language had also been investigated in light of the eventual evental bias, now suspended and conditioned with Kosovo's Association on the Council of Europe. He was starting to talk about lawsuits for “war crimes” against Serbia, so he sounded like an otttave below he previously said.

Still, it is not known whether Kurti's changing word selection marks the withdrawal from the pledge to sue Serbia for genocide.
