Koci: What is happening with Faton Hajriz case in Serbia is suspicious and strange

Lawyer Arianan Koci, who is authorised by Faton Hajriz's family to pull the body out of Serbia, has stated last night what's going on with this case is suspicious and strange.

He has linked this to the new request by Serbian police, who are seeking Faton's mother's slander.

Koci has said a police official has told him some data is not consistent.

“I had a new request from the Serbian police today. They're looking for Faton's mother's saliva. I reacted harshly after I told them that this had to be done earlier. It is indicative that Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, immediately on the first or second day, has said Faton has been killed. I'm assuming a minister of a state bases such a statement somewhere. The fingerprints said they were matching. Why should I get extra evidence? Today the police official tells me that some data is not consistent, and in that context, he mentions fingerprints. I'm finding this strange situation, suspicious”, Koci declared on KTV.

He has raised doubts why Serbia is not looking for saliva in the same way as fingerprints, but that he wants Faton's mother to physically go there.

Asked how safe she can be if she goes to Serbia, Koci has said there is no security for herself.

But what is the reason for the saliva to be taken at this stage when the interior minister has claimed to be killed and that fingerprints are matching. Why they're not looking for saliva the same way they're looking for fingerprints but they're looking straight for Mom. I'm not inclined to conspiracy, but in a legal way, I'm not doing well. I appreciate how suspicious the situation is and I don't like what's going on”, he added.

He has expressed optimism that the body will return.

Serbian authorities declared a week ago that Faton Hajrizi was killed near the border between Serbia and Bosnia. He was suspected of killing one Serbian policeman and wounding another. Hajriz had escaped from the Smrekonica prison on 6 July.
