The announcement was made through social networks by the Albanian deputy himself.
This initiative comes as a result of the UN resolution that was adopted on May 23rd, 2024, which declared July 11th International Day of the Memorial of Genocide Victims in Srebrenica.
But, Kamberi stressed that he does not think this initiative will be backed by most MPs.
“Anyway, the initiative aims to prove that in Serbia there are political forces opposing the official policy of negration of war crimes, genocide, and to set the necessity for Serbia to face crimes that have been committed in its name, the political force supporting the UN Resolution (78/282 of May 23rd of this year for Genocide in Srebrenica)”, he stressed.
On 11 July 1995, more than 80,000 men, children and elders were killed in Srebrenica by Serbia's military-police forces.
