Residents complain that they cannot endure the bad smell of fire smoke that is endangering their health, as it is entering their homes.
They also demand that the fire that has engulfed the area be extinguished in more than 15 kilometers [15 km] into the airline be extinguished.
On the day of the fire explosion, police for the Gjakova region had announced that firefighters had come to the scene and that members of KFOR have also come to their aid in trying to extinguish the fire.
Two days ago KFOR confirmed that US aviation by the Regional Command in the East of the NATO-led Kosovo Force has helped extinguish fires in Albania and Kosovo.
The US aviation intervened with three helicopters equipped with water buckets, two of them have flown to Albania and one to Baba Boja near Gjakova, to neutralise the risk of expanding fires. KFOR assets continued to provide their assistance until the elimination of fire risk, the announcement said.
