The decision, which has entered into force Monday, however, does not envision paying the sum in money. The authorised person takes it in the form of twelve monthly tickets to all urban and regional public transportation across Germany, the so-called Deutschland-Ticket, one of which costs 49 euros.

To facilitate vehicle passage into environmentally friendly transport vehicles, Frankfurt will reward all those who unregister their vehicle. This will significantly contribute to climate change”, Siefert said, Bild reports.
Frankfurt am Main, with nearly 800 thousand registered residents and 350,000 vehicles, became the first major city in the Federal Republic to motivate residents to give up their car. The Siefert expects between 50 and 60 requests per month. Half a million euros from the city budget have been earmarked for the project so far.
The bonus award has its conditions: the candidate must be at least 18 years old, his vehicle should be unregistered, sold or donated in the last three months, and the bonus recipient should not have any other car registered in his name.
The applicant must first present an extract from the motor vehicle register that no longer owns them. They then complete the order form for the release of a Duetschland ticket, after which they receive their respective chip card free. /Telegraphy/
