Estonia prime minister resigns to become EU top diplomat

Speaking of Callas' time as prime minister for a full three-and-a-half years, Karis said that “was a time full of crises, such as coronary, economic recession and war in Europe, when Russia destroyed the previous security picture with its aggression in Ukraine”.
Callas' resignation automatically triggered her triparty cabinet's resignation.
However, it will continue to serve as a technical government until the new cabinet is sworn in most likely in late July or early August. In its high position in the EU, Kallas will succeed the acting foreign policy chief Josep Borrell.
One of its tasks is expected to be mediation in dialogue for normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia. In the past, Kallas has expressed the pro-European integration of Kosovo and has also stressed the need to improve relations with Serbia, saying that a safe Western Balkans “is in the interest of all of Europe”.
