According to the Kosovo Medical Oda, from the beginning of this year until now, 61 doctors have left Kosovo.
The opposition is seeing this phenomenon as disturbing.
The MP from the AAK ranks, Shemsedin Dresaj, tells Blic newspaper that the Health Ministry has taken no action to prevent this phenomenon.
He says that if something is not done, Kosovo risks being left without doctors and nurses.
“Until today, no action has been taken to prevent this phenomenon. Migration is an open and extremely dangerous wound for the country. If nothing is done, Kosovo will soon have problems for doctors and nurses”, he estimates.
According to the MP, the causes are numerous, and for this phenomenon the Government must act.
Migratory risks listed by doctors on the run are linked to wages, working conditions and employment. Here a responsible government will have to act”, AAK deputy Shemsedin Dresaj declares.
The disturbing and alarming trend of the departure of doctors is being seen by LDK deputy Armendi Zemaj.
He says all state health mechanisms should be taken care of with it.

The MP estimates that the solution to this problem, from salary growth and working conditions, to the most advanced laws, must be top priority, as he holds the risk of collapse of the health system.
“Solving this problem should be turned into a top priority, from wage hikes, to setting up working conditions to creating a friendly environment at work, more advanced laws and health systems that value each person's work according to performance, otherwise the health system risks collopping”, Zemaj notes.
He adds that the blame for leaving doctors is the current government that has made no step towards addressing this issue, even stressing that it is stimulating their flight. “Should mention the fact that the primary responsibility for the departure of doctors is that the current government has not taken a single step to address this issue, rather stimulating their departure with evil, unseen policies, witch hunts and health degradation at all times”, says LDK deputy Armendi Zemaj.
