Current 5G network equipment could reach 6G speed

However, this time frame of deployment of the 6G network could be significantly reduced by an innovative experiment that managed to prove that the current 5G network devices and even 4G OTE can reach 6G speed.
A research team from Beijing's Post and Telecommunications University has demonstrated a new method to improve current 4G infrastructure and 5G to 6G, the next generation of mobile communication technology.
The study used “semantic communication”, a smart system for transmission of data through existing network infrastructure, and dramatically increased transmission efficiency and reduced data processing costs.
So much so that the network marked an increase 10 times in the main metrics of transfer such as capacity, coverage and efficiency.
The wireless technology of the sixth generation is expected to revolutionise communication by providing data transmission speeds of up to 50 times faster than 5G.
While the US and nine other countries outlined a set of guidelines for communication systems at the beginning of this year, the focus was on building a secure communications technology that gives national security priority.
China, on the other hand, aims to make 6G commercially available by 2030.
