The burning of official cars in Zvecan allegedly made a crime group of four.

Two official Zvecan municipality cars have been burned by some people still unknown to the authorities of the Republic of Kosovo. Police Director for the Northern Region Veton Elshani has confirmed that there is only material damage and that there are people injured. 

The mayor of the Zvecan municipality, Ilir Peci, has also been speaking about the case.

Peci has criticised security institutions that he is not being offered protection for security as mayor, as coming from PDK ranks.

Peci has said he has sought close protection from the Kosovo Police, but, as he said, was rejected because his refusal has come because it comes from the ranks of the Democratic Party of Kosovo.

A criminal group allegedly 3-4 people allegedly burned cars, this is because the number of citizens' services from the Serb community has increased, but public hearings are also available. I feel endangered and constantly sought close protection from the Kosovo Police, but that this has been rejected and thought that despite having such a requirement base, the same has been rejected because I come from another party”, has declared Pec for Tv1.

Reactions related to the burning of cars and the security of the mayor of the municipality and other officials have also taken place by the PDK. The party leading Memli Krasniqi has called for investigation and has asked institutions to offer protection to Zvecan's mayor and officials.
