Begaj seeks recognition of Kosovo by Zambia

The head of state praised Patricia Chisanga Kondillo for his new task, wishing them success during the exercise of this mandate.
Issues of bilateral co-operation were addressed during the conversation, as well as the importance of co-operation within international organisations.
President Begaj stressed the need for rapprochement between the two countries in areas of mutual interest, as well as the creation of a base of co-operation in economic and cultural fields.
The importance of exchanging visits at different levels, promoting political-diplomatic dialogue and exploiting the potential for international forum activities was appreciated in this direction.
President Begaj encouraged recognition of Kosovo by Zambia as a contribution to strengthening peace and stability in the Western Balkan region. In the absence of official recognition, President Begaj suggested finding ways of co-operation, such as recognising travel documents or implementing visits and promoting business contacts between the two countries.
