Because of high temperatures involving our country, the Health Ministry on Friday has decided to limit working hours by July 20th, for pregnant women and construction sector workers.
Despite the decision made on Friday, several cities have continued to work in the construction sector.
Labour Chief Inspector Hekuran Nikci, in a statement on Telegrafi, has said they have stopped working at several locations in Pristina, Prizren and Pec.
“We are on the ground today, overseeing whether the decision was being respected by the Ministry of Health. We have made a ban on work at several locations in Pristina, in the Dardania, Qentra district and the Mojaven Quarter. Also in some legal subjects in Pristina, we have encountered pregnant women working, asked their employers to release them immediately at home”, he said.
Nikci said the inspectors are located in other regions, where he also announced that they have banned construction work in Pec and Prizren.
The Chief Inspector confirmed that Monday will be pronounced fines for subjects and companies that do not respect the Health Ministry's decision.
Below is the Health Ministry's decision:
1. From 13,07,2024 to 20,07,2024 release pregnant women.
2. In the event of job freedom, as outlined in paragraph 1, pregnant women work at home.
3. Between 13,07,2024 and 20,07,2024 chronically ill citizens work part - time to four hours a day.
4. From 13,07.2024 to 20,2024, work is banned in the construction sector in open environments during 11:00 hours.
