PDK chairmanship member Bernard Nikaj has been critical of the Kosovo Government's decision to pay 21m euros to the company “Countur Global”
He, at a media conference, has stressed that the executive led by Prime Minister Albin Kurti has failed in the field of energy.
“Beyond financial loss, the missing and failed management of the thermal plant project with the company “CunturGloba” has once again distributed the total lack of the capacity of this government above all to build a clear and sustainable vision for addressing citizens' energy needs”.
The government has failed to launch any project in this area, except for the new thermal power plant project, it has cancelled the natural gas project that has been launched and supported by the MCC. The results of all these failures are the high energy prices today that our citizens have in paying bills, as well as lack of energy in winter months”, Nikaj said.
The government has allocated more than 21m euros Wednesday for payment for “Contour Global”, following the loss of the case in arbitration.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti blamed his predecessors for signing the contract and for its consequences. He said the project was not designed to be implemented nor useful for Kosovo.
