At least 20 people killed in Ukraine are also being attacked by a child hospital in Kiev

Ukrainian authorities said at least 20 people have been killed and dozens of others have been injured during a <x0mastive” missile attack conducted by Russia in Kiev and other cities. The children's hospital in Kiev was also hit during the July 8th attacks, as well as residential buildings and other infrastructure across the country. [...]
Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky said that “over 40 rockets of various types” targeted Kiev, Dnepron, Krijvi Rihun in the centre of Ukraine and Kramaorsk and Sloveniansk in the eastern region of Donjeck.
“All services are committed to saving as many people as possible”, he said through an X post, formerly known as Twitter.
Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko told the agency Reuters that this was one of the worst “attacks in the Ukrainian capital in 28 months of full combat.
A video recorded by Radio Free Europe at the Children's Hospital, Ohrid, in Kiev, showed lines of people who were helping to clear the building's ruins.
There are people under the rubble, the exact number of victims is not known to”, Zelensky said on social networks, saying that the Ohmadit “hospital is one of the most important hospitals of children, not only in Kiev, but also in Europe”.
Moscow, which has begun its invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has repeatedly denied that it targets residential buildings, schools, hospitals, and other civilian infrastructure, despite evidence they say otherwise.
The Ukraine's Interior Ministry said the number of people who have been confirmed killed is at least 20, meanwhile, 50 others have been injured in the 8 July attacks.
Ukraine's Air Force announced air alert across Ukraine before mid-July 8th, following the alleged threat of ballistic missile attacks, while they said they were fighting to repel attacks on Kiev.
The blasts at Kiev were heard at around 10:30 local times as the city military administration urged citizens to stay in shelter until alarm for air strikes was stopped.
The military said it was later issued alarms for attacks across the country.
Day-to-day attacks in Ukraine are rare, even though Russia has been intensifying the bombing of Ukrainian residential centres and targeting energy infrastructure.
Ukrainian forces also said that at least three floating missiles were fired at night. According to Air Force Commander General Mykola Oleschuk, the missiles were toppled in the regions of Dzitomir and Cerkas.
In Krijvi Rich and in Dnepropetrovsk, authorities reported at least ten people killed and 30 injured during a “massive enemy air attack”.
In the northeast, Harkivi chief Ihor Terekhov said two women were hospitalised after being injured during Russian promotions in three residential buildings.
Later on July 8th, Harkiwi's governor said at least five people were killed in the region.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Army General Staff reported that field fighting is continuing as Russia continues its offensive in the region of Harkive. According to the Ukrainian Army, Russia appears to be conducting offensives in Pokrovsk, Donjeck, where at least three people were killed as a result of missile attacks.
The military said troops are attempting to re-stabilise” the situation to prevent Russian forces from advancing more on Ukrainian territory in this area. / REL/
