Kosovo police have provided details concerning the weapons that were found yesterday in the north, which was hiding from members of the terrorist group that carried out the attack on Banjska on 24 September last year. The raids were carried out after information received by the Kosovo Intelligence Agency.
Through the 24-hour report, police have suggested that some of the weapons were found in a sewer well behind a building on “Colashini”.
“FALSE - No leads. Kolashini, Mitrovica North 14.06.2024-1500. From the regional investigation unit, behind a building in a sewer well, found and seized three AK-47 automatic weapons, two clips of 30 rounds of cable.7.62mmm, two empty clips, 11 rounds of long gun, a pistol case and a military bag. No reported arrest. Case under investigation”
The rest was found in an uninhabited house on “Cheta of Minors”.
“Rr. Miner's case, Mitrovica North 14.06.2024-16:30. It has been reported that from the investigation unit, in an uninhabited house, it has found and seized a large quantity of weapons of various models as well as explosives. At the prosecutor's decision the case is prosecuted in regular procedure”, the report says.
Police director's duty to the northern region, Veton Elshani, during a news conference featuring weapons found and confiscated, has revealed that the weapons and other equipment found have been there for a long time.
He has said that the two suspects in Banjska's case, Zarko Cvetkovic and Marijan Radojevic, who connect with the event, are on the run.
Both locations have names, the first location is related to the name Marijan Radojevic, while the second location is connected to Zarko Cvetkovic... and both are looking for Banjska case... We consider that this weapons and these devices are there for a longer time”, Elshani said.
The images of the weapons found were published by Interior Minister Jelal Svechla.
He said destabilizing threats from Belgrade would be rejected by law and order.
Today, more explosives, weapons and ammunition were confiscated once more in the north thanks to our alert security forces and increasing co-operation with our citizens in the north. The destabilising threats from Belgrade will be rejected by law and order”, Svechla wrote.
