It was on its way to Slovenia, but Tefik Mustaf's trip stopped at half-day afternoon, when he was stopped at the Merdar border point by Serbian authorities.
His son, Qamil Mustafa, says that under war crimes claims, his father was sent to Belgrade.
Mustafa denied Serbian claims that his father committed war crimes, as according to him, the same one had not been in Kosovo at the time.
The case has been condemned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, from which they have called on the international community to take steps to release him.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora “has strongly condemned the ban, arrest and mistreatment of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo, and also calls on the International Community to take concrete steps to release Mr. Tefiq Mustafa and at the same time seek responsibility from the Serbian state for these arbitrary and destructive actions and that clash with international human rights conventions”.
Security recognisers say that through such actions, Serbia is trying to keep the situation between the two tense states.
Serbia had banned and mistreated other Kosovars in recent years. Nezir Mehmetaj has been held in Serbian prisons for four years under war crimes claims, as did Hasan Dajaj and Sadik Duraku. / RTK
