Minister for Communities and Kthim Nenad Rassic says there is a decline in the influence of the Serbian List in the north.
There's a drop in influence as you say, but I have to show that, we as Kosovo institutions have to do much more than we do at this moment. There is a grouping threatening all those who want to participate in the content of municipalities with Albanian mayors. I have submitted today a proposal for possible appointment for a deputy chairman in one of the” municipalities, Rassic told Tv1.
The minister from the Serb community's ranks accused past governments of involvement in the four northern municipalities.
The “in particular, there is an element that has stumbled mostly, and it is a silent support from the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, and this has been a scandalous story to me, which for the reasons of the numbers in parliament, people in the past have been willing to do anything but have 61 MPs in the Kosovo parliament. So these are the results of previous works, which have been without moral integrity, and without political integrity”, he.
Rassic stressed, among other things, that now Serb interest in the north has increased.
There's an extraordinary interest in citizens, life can't wait, it's going on, but I'm sorry we lost years or decades we lost to wait, some major big man to decide for us, but the only ones we decide for our destiny are in”, he said.
In April 2023, four Albanians, two of the ranks of the Democratic Party of Kosovo and two others from the Vetevendosje Movement, were elected mayors for the first time in Serb-dominated municipalities.
