“Where is Ramush, Fatmir?”, Walker criticises the government that invited them to the Day of Deliverance.

A retired American diplomat, William Walker, has talked about the holiday that was held in Kosovo on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Freedom Day. Walker has voiced his criticism of the state leaders of the way they have dealt with opposition party leaders and people who have contributed to Kosovo's liberation. [...]
In this interview Walker said that at the party organised by the Government in the evening, he was surprised to have seen Ramush Haradinaj and Fatmir Limaj there. Walker said he was interested in why this happened and tells of the reasoning he had received from a person there.
A retired American diplomat has said it is disturbing to hear opposition party leaders get at the party because of political differences.
I was definitely proud to be invited and sat there, listening to the speeches. However, many of them are long, and I was not ready to listen to the same talks. But the ceremony in parliament with representatives of the international community, I saw it very well. I was a little surprised at the evening celebration and the perception the government gave in recognising the 25th anniversary of liberation. When I arrived, I met one or two people, your President, for example, I had a minute with him. I met several ministers and deputy ministers. And I asked the people I was with, I thought I'd find some of the other people I knew here. Find Ramush Haradinaj, find Fatmir Limaj. The people I've known for 25 years. And they told me they weren't here. I said it's surprising. Why didn't they come to celebrate what they fought for. They said no, they didn't come because they weren't invited. The opposition was not invited but all Kosovars should have come. I was told they were somehow invited, but at the last minute. And today I asked a friend, I said I was at the hotel here and I expected to see representatives from the diaspora. They usually come. This was liberation day, why aren't they here? And this person told me they weren't invited. Sounds like something to be criticized. Freedom Day must be a holiday for all Kosovars. To hear that political differences keep some from coming or being cooled, I find it very disturbing”, Walker said of T7.
