Pristina municipality is planning fine of citizens for careless waste disposal

Pristina Public Services Director Bekim Brestovci has warned that in the future citizens will be punished if they do not respect the rules of waste disposal.

He has suggested that this will happen after municipalities create all conditions for waste disposal.

And we're going to start at the time to fine those who don't act responsible to waste, but we're working intensively, first to create all the conditions for citizens so they can get the garbage to throw where it belongs to throw. So far unfortunately they haven't, now we're in a creation of such a trend where citizens will then be able to then throw the waste of the household into containers dedicated to the rest of the environment, volume waste in containers dedicated to volume waste and construction in containers dedicated to construction waste. If we're still going to have irresponsible or irresponsible citizens better say, then of course they're going to be fined conform regulations that we have in our power”, Brestovci said in an interview for EO.
