Picierno: I hope Kosovo will soon join the European Union's big family

European Parliament Vice President Pina Picierno has congratulated the people of Kosovo on the 25th anniversary of the liberation.

In a writing on the “X” platform, she said she hopes that Kosovo will soon join the large European Union family.

Kosovo today celebrates its 20th Day of Liberation, which corresponds to the anniversary of the end of the armed conflict following the withdrawal of Slobodan Milosevic's Serb forces and the arrival of nearly KFOR, the NATO peacekeeping force. I hope that soon I can welcome Kosovo into the large European Union family”, Picierno wrote.

Kosovo has applied for membership in the European Union nearly 15 years after the declaration of independence.

On December 15th, 2022, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti had handed over to the country, which currently heads the European Union Presidency .
