Orlovic pleads guilty to attack on KFOR and Police in Zvecan, court approves agreement

The Constitutional Court in Pristina has approved the plea agreement between Kosovo's Special Prosecutor and accused Nenad Orlovic, who is accused of attacking KFOR and the Kosovo Police near the Zvecan municipality facility on May 29th, 2023.
Following the approval of the plea agreement, by Judge Valbona Musliu-Selimaj special prosecutor Bekim Kodoraliu said the punishment recommended for the criminal offense against the official person is between 15 and 17 months in prison, reports the “Justice Trust”.
While, for criminally participating in the crowd committing criminal acts and hooliganism under the same recommended sentence is 6 months in prison terms of becoming fine sentences of 10,000 to 12,000 euros.
Prosecutor Kodoraliu proposed to the court that, given the recommended sentences of the accused Orlovic, he pronounces his unique condemnation according to its assessment within the terms of recommendations and let the same not stop the detention measure.
Even defender of the accused Orlovic, lawyer Gani Hoxha, said they remain close to the recommended sentence, calling on the tribunal to take into account extenuating circumstances and to have his defender issue the minimum sentence within the recommendation.
Lawyer Hoxha proposed that accused Orlovic cease the detention measure with the argument that he was the family keeper and that the same time he will respond to the court.
The accused Orlovic said he supports the lawyer Hoxha's word and that he promised he will not repeat criminal acts and that he will not leave Kosovo because his family is here.
Also, the accused Orlovic agreed that the six-month prison sentence for criminal work participation in the mob committing criminal acts and hooliganism was replaced by fines.
Presequently, the accused Orlovic said the plea agreement had been made with full will, in sufficient consultation with the defender and without pressure.
Proposal of the bias regarding the matter is expected to take place in the coming days.
According to the indictment, set up on June 11th 2024, the accused Orlovic is said to be on May 29th 2023, at the time interval, ranging from 0600 to the evening hours, in the perimeter where the object of the Zvecan municipality is located, in co-ordination with many other defendants of Serbian nationalism from Kosovo and Serbia, have actively participated in the group of persons in carrying out serious criminal acts.
The same, according to the indictment, through the use of violence they have attacked and seriously seized the soldiers of KFOR's peacekeeping mission, using strong instruments, improvised explosive devices as well as firearms, which have been injured at least 30 (thirty) members of KFOR peacekeeping forces, 3 (three) by them from firearms missiles, as well as some members of the Kosovo Police, who have been on official duty to guarantee order and public calm for all citizens in that part of which actions are seriously endangered and the bodies of those whose officials have caused serious bodily injuries.
By these actions, the accused Orlovic in co-ordination committed the criminal act “Attack on the official person”, by Article 402 pars. 5 connected to par. Two and one connected to KPRK Article 31.
According to the second device of the same indictment, the accused Orlovic is said to have participated actively in the group, respectively, of persons with the aim of committing serious criminal acts.
Furthermore, through the use of violence, they have been trying to prevent the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo in northern municipalities of the country, so that despite the orders of KFOR's peacekeeping mission to disperse the crowd and refuse to enter the municipality object, defendants had begun to practice uncontrolled violence, by strong means, improvised explosive devices, as well as by firearms.
Of these devices, according to the indictment, at least 30 (thirty) members of KFOR peacekeeping forces have been injured, 3 (three) by fire weapons missiles, and causing considerable damage to the vehicles of KFOR, the Kosovo Police, as well as in the cars of journalists who have covered the events of this day, which include the total burning of several vehicles or massive physical damage, causing widespread danger to life and the bodies of many people and wealth.
By these actions, the accused Orlovic in co-ordination has committed criminal work “The participation in the crowd committing criminal acts and hooliganism, by Article 404 (front). 1) regarding KPRK Article 31. /Betimy for Justice
