Israel has accepted American President Joe Biden's proposal for a ceasefire for the Gaza War, though it does not assess it as a good deal.
A deal we agreed on is not a good deal, but we want many hostages to be released, all”, said Ophir Falk, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah's chief foreign policy adviser.
He in an interview for the Sunday Times said there are too many details to process.
Falk noted that Israeli conditions have not changed, which “aim to free hostages and destroy Hamas as a genocide terrorist organisation”, Reuters reports, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
Biden, on Friday, broadcast what he described as a triphatic plan presented by the Netanyah government to end the war.
The first phase includes a ceasefire and the return of some of the hostages held by Hamas, after which the parties will negotiate an open disruption of hostilities for a second phase in which remaining surviving captives will be released, Biden said.
Hamas has temporarily welcomed the American president's initiative.
The Biden sentence included positive ideas, but we want this to materialise within the framework of a comprehensive agreement that meets our”, Hamas senior official Osama Hamdan told Al Jazeera on Saturday.
Hamas requires a guaranteed end of the offensive in Gaza, the withdrawal of all invading forces, free movement for Palestinians and assistance in reconstruction. Israeli officials have rejected this as an effective return to the situation before 7 October, when Hamas ruled Gaza.
