As they say, they are upset because of the removal of the Serbian currency in Kosovo, but also other Kosovo decisions, such as the opening of the bridge over Iber.
And as part of them fear that the Serbian people will start leaving Kosovo because of petitions, others are determined to continue in their struggle for survival.
An elderly Mitrovica resident has shown that it is very difficult to accept that he can no longer use the dinar.
How is it not difficult, you have nothing, no dinars and a little to do, let's go or get the euro, even if they're just dinars, everything is confused, see what the situation is like around the bridge, people are going, but nobody wants to know why they left. There are no columns, you see people disappearing, they leave”, he told Kosovo Online.
His fellow citizen says there have been worse situations and that the “situation with the dinar will somehow be solved”. He notes that citizens are a little confused.
It's not the same anymore, we still can't get used to that badge. Montenegrins couldn't remove the brand that easily. So we're gonna need some time to introduce the euro, it can't be. It's gotten harder than no dinars, we're all looking at “what, we ask, we wait, we ask ourselves. We're all a little confused right now,” he notes.
It shows that citizens still go to Serbia to increase their income.
We go into the crossings, we raise money to achieve our existence, so we survive somehow, we have to fight to protect what we have, it can be difficult, it was harder, but we're going to keep ourselves. What do we do, so much”, he declared.
One of the pensioners stressed that the post office in northern Mitrovica has been closed, for that reason, increasing the pension in Rashka.
It's very difficult. For my pension I have to go to Kralev in Raska, the mail is closed here. They get dinars in our stores,” he said.
