Defence Minister Ejup Macedonia has said they are on track to meet the KSF's ten-year transition plan. According to him, this plan was designed to be reached in 2028, but four years earlier it has reached five thousand active members and three thousand reserve members.
Under the General Transition Plan, some of KSF's new responsibilities would include maintaining sovereignty and territorial integrity, providing military support to civil authorities and participating in international operations.
In an interview for Online Economics, Minister Macedonia has said that this success has been achieved thanks to government support, while on the sidelines has said they have not remained with modern weapons systems. According to him, they are with NATO standards.
Our “Academia has revealed the cadets capable of running not only combat operations but also to govern the face of overall security. Always the arrival of the cadets as an officer in the Kosovo Security Force is a generation, it energizes, it gives new energy and provides new opportunities of force to develop in the direction of achieving our state goals. We have planned to meet this number in 2028 with sweeping transition plans, so that the number of five thousand active members and three thousand backup members, but thanks to the continued support we have had from Prime Minister Kurti and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, with additional budgets, but also with budget increases, we have achieved that number from this stage to over four thousand active members, and also to supply the strength with modern weapons systems that are according to NATO standards and that are normally part of the FSKSKSI, to carry out the task of protecting our country's sovereignty, the Madodododo.
The minister has also talked about the numerous demands of citizens to join the Kosovo Army. He said that serving the homeland is the most sacred thing.
There's always been interest and interest in citizens, so young people to join in. The KSF, both in terms of following academic programmes but also in terms of joining as a member of KSF soldiers. My message to young people is that they dare apply it to be KSF candidates, to be an officer. Always serving the homeland is the most sacred thing a man can give in relation not only to his homeland but also to his family and himself”, the minister said. / EO
