The EU's special minister for Kosovo dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has said the reason for his visit to Pristina today is to discuss refocusing in the process of normalism and what concrete steps should be taken to do so.
Lajcak said that at the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi spoke of accelerating the Basic Agreement, but also about the issue of the Growth Plan.
The second question we discussed was the Development Plan, which is a new EU financial instrument that is being offered 6 billion euros in investment”.
But for Kosovo and Serbia this allocation of funds is conditional on constructive engagement in dialogue, and here I am the one who should make this assessment of constructiveity. That is why we have discussed how to get to the positive assessment”, Lajcak said.
At the news conference, Lajcak also spoke of the report that European diplomacy chief Josep Borrell has sent to member states concerning the removal of the measures or not.
As far as I know, this report will be discussed tomorrow on the Committee for Policy and Security, and that depends on the result of the” discussion.
I've made my position on the measures clear since September, when I recommended that these be removed. But as I said, I'm not part of this process, this is the decision of member states. My personal position is that they have to be removed. Prime Minister Kurti is not in the country, for that we have had a” meeting, he said.
