Prime Minister Albin Kurti has again talked about the possibility of early parliamentary elections in Kosovo.
Kurti said parliamentary elections could be held in autumn or winter, depending on whether they can agree with the opposition.
Kosovo is always ready (for election) because the Central Election Commission is a professional and independent institution. However, since it is known for local elections that the deadline is autumn next year, for parliamentary elections this will be earlier, it may be in autumn or winter, depending on whether there may be any agreement at any time with the current opposition to make the month's appointment for the new” elections, Kurti has declared.
He said this agreement was not reached for this spring, and it remains to be seen what the autumn of winter will bring, adding that he has expressed readiness to go to the elections since it is in the last year of the mandate and the passage of international agreements.
I am already in the last year of this mandate and have remained less than ten months, so I also expressed my readiness that on one side we pass international agreements that are important regardless of political parties, and on the other side to set the date that would be appropriate for the upcoming elections. It wasn't done this spring, let's see what the autumn of winter” will bring, Kurti declared in an interview for local TV TV Kamenica.
Otherwise, international agreements have already been voted, following the meeting Kurti had held with PDK keu, Memli Krasniqi.
Kurti had declared that he is willing to offer VV votes for the distribution of the Assembly only if all opposition parties agree on this. The LDK and AAK have come up against that, after initially demanding Prime Minister Kurti's resignation, so that the country can then go to the polls.
