KFOR for penalties: We've considered the court's decisions, the connoisseurs of justice: Low

KFOR has been reluctant to comment on the extent of sentences Pristina's Constitutional Court has pronounced against participants in the May 29th violent acts in Zvecan against members of the NATO and Kosovo Police Mission. They in an answer to Dukagjin have said that they are aware of the court's decisions, redecuting that they had [...]
After three months, Nenad Orlovovic, will be a free man, but many KFOR soldiers who were victims of him will bear the consequences of the “acts Russia” for a long time, some for the rest of their lives.
Serbia, which was recently pronounced a sentence of only 15 months in prison, counting on the time spent in detention, does not have many months to complete the time, as well as on whether it pays the 12 thousand-euro fine.
As far as the last sentence is concerned, Dukajni has been leading questions even towards KFOR, but the same have not commented on it, saying they have taken into account decisions, including those of the past.
Our “position has been clear and consistent all the time. May 29th attack on KFOR troops and the September 24th violent attack on northern Kosovo in 2023 were unacceptable, and those responsible for these acts of violence must be held accountable,” reportedly in KFOR's response.
After the violence, NATO has deployed about 1,000 additional peacekeepers and the worst armoured forces in Kosovo. This has been the largest reinforcement of our contingent in Kosovo in a decade and shows that NATO is ready to continue to maintain a safe and secure environment for the benefit of all people living in Kosovo, in line with our UN 1244 mandate. We have taken into account the court's so far judgments in Pristina. For any further comment I address to institutions in Kosovo. ”
But, connoisseur of the justice system, they do not hesitate to say that punishment should be harsher.
In view of what happened there in the north, which was permanently tense, and almost the same people have caused and kept the situation there tense, I believe it would have to be more rigorous sentences maybe even to get out of practices that in other normal circumstances would be pronounced,” said Fyzulah Hasani, former chairman of the Supreme Court.
Hasan further adds that the recent decision, but also the convictions for the other indictees, are influenced by political circumstances, but also by the international factor, which, according to him, should not happen.
“These sentences have been more or less influenced by politics, because you know there have been strong reactions from international mechanisms that you are arresting them, why no agreement has been made with us, and the arrests have not been necessary, and for me have made a kind of political compromise, in that sense that they have been convicted of punishment as much as the law allows, and it has led to the international factors to reason for the sentences they have imposed,<1> added Hasani.
The three convicted of the May 29th attacks in Zvecan, where more than 30 KFOR members, of shootings and strong tools, remained injured, admitting guilt.
And according to former Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Valdet Hoxha, this circumstance affects reduced condemnation.
Not rarely do defendants or suspects rarely use it, offering their readiness to enter a deal with the state prosecutor. If there is such an agreement, the court can accept whether the agreement reached on the basis of the criteria clearly defined in the criminal procedure code, and naturally the defendant made such an act in his favour,” has said Valdet Hoxha, former Zv. Minister of Internal Affairs.
The arrests of some of the violent protest participants in Zvecan were conducted mainly during the past year.
In addition to Orlovic, who was sentenced to 15 months in prison and 12,000 euros in fines, Rados Petrovic and Dusan Obrenovic, who were replaced with fines, were sentenced.
But suspects, of the dozens involved in the violent acts of late, continue to be on the run, and the arrests have continued this year, with the last case that took place in Jarinje, where a young Serb man was arrested.
