WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is expected on Wednesday to admit the guilt of breaking American intelligence law in an agreement with the American Department of Justice, which will release him from prison and allow him to return to his home in Australia, ending a 14-year legal regime.
Assange, 52, agreed to plead guilty to a criminal charge, conspiracy to secure and publish classified US national defence documents, according to the US District Court file on the northern islands of Mariana.
On Wednesday, he is expected to be sentenced to 62 months in prison, a period of time he has already carried out. /rel
