Still no indictment of Banjska's case, the chief prosecutor reasons: Legal deadline for setting up charges is two years

More than eight months have passed since the terrorist attack on Zvecan Banjska, where Kosovo Police Sergeant Africa Buxaku lost his life.
Officially, there is still no indictment filed by the Kosovo Prosecutor for the Serb terrorist group, led by Milan Radojic, put on the run by Interpol, but continues to remain at large in Serbia.
Director of state institutions and analysts have criticised the State Prosecutor for failing to file the indictment.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti at a media conference in December 2023, along with Interior Affairs Minister Jalal Svecla, has criticised the prosecutor, saying that despite facts provided by security institutions, the prosecution did not file any charges of the attack on Banjska.
Meanwhile, Chief State Prosecutor Besim Kelmendi's duty, questioned by Kosova Prees, has not filed any act on the Banjska case with the fact that the legal deadline for establishing the charges, which is two years with the possibility of continuing another year.
The legal amendment to the establishment of the indictment is two years with the possibility of continuing on in complex cases for even one year, but this is required by court”, Kelmendi said.
On September 24th 2023 in Banjska, a terrorist group from Serbia at the helm with Milan Radojic attacked the Kosovo Police, killing Sergeant Africa Bulnjak. Kosovo police countered this attack by killing three members of the terrorist group. Radovac fled to Serbia and admitted he had stayed behind this attack.
The European Parliament (PE) on October 19th 2023 has strongly condemned the attack on police in Zvecan Banjska on September 24th, calling it a terrorist attack and demanding responsibility from Serbia.
