The Gaza Health Ministry, led by Hamas, reported that at least 274 Palestinians were killed and hundreds of others were injured Saturday during the Israeli military attack that freed four persons held hostage by Hamas. The Israeli Army said its units were met with fierce fighting during the operation conducted during the day in the depths of Gaza territory, and the Israeli prime minister pledged Sunday to continue efforts to release all hostages and win in the war. Meanwhile today arrives US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who will try to restore the ceasefire talks.

Tens of those injured were taken to the hospital to receive emergency medical treatment.

According to official Palestinian news agency W The AFA, Israeli planes staged numerous attacks on Al-Zaytoun and Tal Al-Hawa neighbourhoods in the town of Gaza and Nusira, as well as in Al-Magzi and Al-Bureij camps in central Gaza Strip.

We were on the market. Despite the war, people were normally on the market to prepare for the holiday of Eid al-Adha. We were buying vegetables with a friend of mine. We saw over 20 planes above our heads. There were four helicopters on Salah al-Din and two on the sea. We were surprised by the attack. There were buildings. They gave us no warning, no flyers, nothing. The body parts of the people were distributed across the street”Says one of the injured Palestinians, Abdul Salaam Darweish.

Israeli forces rescued four hostages held by Hamas in central Gaza since the attack by militants against Israel in October.

25-year-old Noah Argaman, whose kidnapping images by Hamas militants shook world opinion, was received by her family, and sang with them to wish her father a happy birthday. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah, who sang with his family, was present.

The other hostages saved by the Israeli Army are Almog Meir Jan, 21, Andrey Kozlov, 27, and Slomi Ziv, 40. It was Israel's largest hostage release operation.

Prime Minister Netanyah hailed the heroism of Israeli military men who survived the four hostages Sunday. During the cabinet meeting, he also announced that one of the commanders leading the special forces teams was killed during the operation.

Our hero warmen were thrown together into the fire, eliminated terrorists and released hostages. When I approved this complex and dangerous operation on Thursday, I took into account two main considerations: first our commitment to restore all the hostages; second I knew we could trust our warriors, who are the best in the world”, the Israeli prime minister said, adding that everything will be possible to free all hostages and achieve victory over the enemy.

The White House refused to say Sunday whether President Joe Biden will meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu when he visits Washington next month to give a speech in Congress. National security adviser Jake Sullivan said during an interview with the CBS channel that there is nothing new to announce on the matter and that the two leaders maintain continued communication with each other.
