Havenier: What Kosovo has accomplished is extraordinary, proud to have you partner

US Ambassador Jeffrey Havenier has described as extraordinary what Kosovo has accomplished 25 years after its liberation, while expressing pride in US partnerships Kosovo.

He even remembered the order of former US President Bill Clinton.

“25 years ago, NATO forces arrived in Kosovo. The US leader played a vital role to enable this, since we, together with our allies, permanently ended the terrible campaign of ethnic cleansing that Milosevic's regime led here in Kosovo. As President Clinton said, then I quote: Over the past four months, we have seen some of the most inhuman acts of our lives. But we have also seen the bravery of our troops, the determination of our democracy, the kindness of our people and the courage and endurance of the people of Kosovo. Thanks to all these features, we now have a moment of hope and must finish the work and build peace”, Havenier said in a video message for the 25th anniversary of Freedom Day.

Havenier has guaranteed that US support for Kosovo will continue for the years to come.

President Clinton's “is as important today as it was 25 years ago. Now, 25 years later, we're proud of everything you've accomplished. You have built your sovereign, democratic and multiethnic state from the foundation. What you've achieved is extraordinary. The United States is proud to be your partner while marking this important historical moment. I would like to stress that the US commitment to the people of Kosovo is as strong and stable as ever. We stand with the people of Kosovo against authoritarianism, against any attempt to brutally suppress and separate society on ethnic or religious lines, against the violent destruction of people's lives and lives and against their will. And we stand proudly and fully beside the people of Kosovo. We've been with you since the beginning. We're with you now. And we welcome to stand by your side in the years to come.
