Fights with rebels around the corner, more intense for the American Navy since World War II.

Although the rebel group slipped into Yemen says it attacks ships at the Red Sea to support Palestinians in Gaza, ships that have not been linked to the Israeli-Haams conflict have been hit by their attacks. The U.S. Navy continues to protect commercial ships daily on the longest mission since the war period. [...]
The United States-led military campaign against Iran-backed militant group has turned into one of the most intense and ongoing battles facing the American Navy since World War II.
Experts and mission leaders made this assessment for the Associated Press news agency, whose journalists visited American ships off the coast of Yemen during recent days.
It's a dangerous job, but we're going to make it. There is an added level of danger here, but sailors have done well. They saved civilians' lives. It's hard to count on how many people we've saved so far. It is difficult to account for something that did not happen after we saved them. It's an important message that I think should be given”, says Captain Christopher F. Hill, Warship Commander “U n SS Dwight D. Eisenhower”.
The fight against almost daily huds attacks has been overshadowed because of the Israeli-Hamas war in Gaza.
So far over 50 ships have been attacked directly by rebels.
I don't think people know how serious the situation is and how dangerous the ships continue to be. The belly hits every day. Our own warships are threatened every day. We're protecting them perfectly, protecting them ourselves. But it's unstoppable”, says Warship Commander “U n SS laboon”, Eric Blomberg.
These and other attacks have threatened commercial transport through the Red Sea corridor.
The destroyers spend six of the seven days of the week in what we call the area of gun engagement, where they can be hit by a variety of enemy weapons, whether they're afraid, or anti-ship missiles, with self-direction or ballistics. Flight of these vehicles lasts only a few minutes, and from the moment the spot remains only a few seconds”, says Captain David Wroe, commander of missile destroyers.
It seems that the exchanges of fire will only intensify, increasing the risk for the United States and Allies.
We currently have the strong conviction that not only Iran supports them financially but provides support to the discovery. And the part that comes out most in the news is the kinetic support, that's the offering of weapons”, says counteradmiral Marc Miguez, commander of the Second Aeroplane Planner Group.
Rebels throughout the country say the attacks are aimed at stopping the war and supporting the Palestinians, though often ships that have nothing to do with the conflict.
The Gaza war has caused the deaths of over 36 thousand Palestinians, according to the Palestinian medical authorities led by Hamas, as well as hundreds of others have been killed during Israeli operations in the West Coast.
The conflict began after Hamas militants, a terrorist organisation named by the United States, Britain and the European Union, attacked Israel on October 7th, killing about 1,200 people and taking some 250 others hostage. / VOA
