ENT SO-E is currently collecting technical data on this incident from affected OSTs and will provide more information about this event in the near future. In line with the methodology for ranking incidents, the ENTSO-E System Operations Committee will select an expert panel to assess the causes and consequences of the incident.
Montenegrin officials claim that the cause of regional decay of the electromagnetic system is the result of heavy burden and increasing daily consumption and high temperatures, but an international investigation by the European Official Association of Broadcasting System Operators will be determined where the problems started.
This break affected Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and caused a partial break in Croatia. Operators of affected (OST) transmission systems, with support from neighbouring OSTs, managed to restore power supply within 2 hours, trying to downplay the impact of disruption on consumers.
