In the case of June 1st, International Children's Day, the platform for child Rights Monitoring has been launched.
As U. NICEF in Kosovo, the platform is part of the government's efforts to empower the system for protecting children's rights in tracking progress achieved for children and ensuring a comprehensive picture of the situation of children and young people in Kosovo.
To that end, U n NICEF says the platform provides data for key child rights indicators in Kosovo and descriptions of institutional commitment to improve children's lives.
These were said during a meeting of the International Committee for the Rights of Children headed by the Office for Good Governance.
Much has been achieved in connection with the realisation of children's rights in Kosovo, but it remains very important that the government continues to have attention and pledge to the most vulnerable and disfellowshipped children, in particular children with limited abilities. On the Day of the Children U n The NICEF calls on the Government to finalise and approve the Law on Rating, Status Recognition, Benefits and Services for Limited Persons. This law has the full support of UNICEF, the support of all UN agencies, and the support of most civil society organisations working with disabled persons”, U said NICEF on the media report.
Participants at the meeting have been the children who had the opportunity to share their main requirements for realising their rights with the deputy ministers of the line ministries, representatives from the UNICEF Office in Kosovo, Leaderial Task Agent Benjamin Fischer, KOMF Director Donjeta Kelmendi, and various child protection organisations.
In the report, it was said that thirty-four municipalities have created teams for the Rights of Children led by mayors, an effort for co-operation initiated by the Office for Good Governance under the Office of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Management of Local Power.
Besides, with U's support NICEF, it was said that in eight municipalities, municipal municipalities have developed and adopted Team for Children's Rights Action Plans. These plans provide strategic guidelines, interventions and resources for quality and inclusive municipal services that support child protection and development.
U n NICEF said that on international children's day it is also important to highlight the need to address global crises caused by climate change, environmental pollution and loss of biodiversity as children are more vulnerable and deserve to rely on global movements that are focused on preventing further global warming and easing their worst effects.
