Kosovo's Ambassador to Bulgaria, Haxhi Bajraktari, has met during the day with the country's Deputy Foreign Minister, Ivan Kondov.

As the Bulgarian MPJ reports, the two sides highly praised bilateral relations and discussed possibilities for deepening co-operation in various areas.

At the meeting, as reportedly in the communiqué, it was discussed that visa liberalisation for Kosovo has brought a significant increase in the influx of tourists to Bulgarian winter resorts, while it said it has the potential to positively influence economic co-operation.

Ambassador Bajraktari expressed gratitude for Bulgaria's continued support for the reconstruction of Kosovo, which is the newest republic in the Balkans, and stressed that Bulgaria is a true partner and friend of his country.

For his part, Kondov noted that “Kosovo can continue to rely on Bulgarian support even in the future”.

He underlined the importance of the Bulgarian community in Kosovo as a natural friendship bridge and welcomed the country's efforts to build a multiethnic society with equal opportunities for all citizens.

In this context, Bulgarian MPJs said some of the problems of the Bulgarian community in Kosovo and possibilities for resolving them were also discussed.

The discussion was also the stability of the Western Balkan region, where efforts to strengthen stability and peace in the region were stressed under the destabilising effects of foreign forces.

The “also discussed current European agenda issues, including the Kosovo-Serbia” dialogue, the Bulgarian MPJ reported.
