Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, in his latest interview when he spoke of the EU's Association Draft, has said that Slovak emissary Miroslav Lajcak should bring the draft for Association himself to the Venice Commission and that Kurti himself as prime minister of Kosovo will take the Kosovo Constitutional Court to Kosovo.
In this regard, EU spokesman Peter Stano has spoken, saying that the inclusion of the Venice Commission is not envisioned as part of the 2013 and 2013 agreements for establishing the Association of Serb Major States.
“The inclusion of the Venice Commission is not envisioned as part of the 2013 and 2015 agreements for the establishment of the Serbian Major Commission Association/United States”, Stano has declared
Stano further said the QUINT and the EU have made clear their position and expectations for the next step Kosovo must take in the process of implementing the 2013 and 2015 agreements for the establishment of the Association, respectively, the sending of the European Union's Drift to the Constitutional Court of Kosovo.
“The EU and Quinti have made very clear their position and expectations for the next step Kosovo must take in the process of implementing the two Brussels Accords (2013 and 2015) regarding the establishment of the Serbian majority municipalities' Association/Unitability, respectively, the reference to the European Drif Stattuti to the Constitutional Court for the assessment of constitutional constitution and for the Constitutional Court to announce the acceptable”, has added further Stano.
The EU spokesman has now said that the European Draft was written by Lajcak's team, along with legal experts from France, Germany, Italy and the US, as the parties have been ready to draft their own drafts along the process.
Stano has said that following the presentation of EU Draft to Prime Minister Kurti and Serbian President Vucic in October 2023, the next step should be taken by Kosovo in accordance with the 2013 and 2015 agreements.
The European Status “Draft was written by the Special Emissar team along with renowned international legal experts, as well as experts from France, Germany, Italy and the US, as the parties were unable to engage themselves in a drafting process. Following the presentation of European draft Prime Minister Kurti and President Vuciq in October 2023, Kosovo must take the next steps in line with the 2013 and 2015 Accords, as the EU spokesman noted earlier” has suggested.
Peter Stano has said it belongs to Kosovo that, as a party to the Venice Commission, seek legal advice for the draft legislation or legislation that is in effect, including the European Bill for Association.
The “belongs to Kosovo as a party in the Venice Commission to seek legal advice on bills or legislation already in force, including the European Status Project.
