Josep Borrell, senior representative of the European Union for Foreign Policy and Security, has said that at the meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister and Serbia's president in Brussels, concrete steps for implementation of last year's Brussels and Ohrid Accords will be discussed.
He has complained that in the past year discussions most of the cases have been for crisis management. There has been a lack of commitment, lack of progress, lack of implementation and will to reach consensus in the dialogue on the parties.
He has expressed hope that today's meeting will bring another message.
It will be important to understand how the two sides see the future of the dialogue facilitated by the EU. As the parties want to continue. For a few months there will be other people's names in our country, but the EU agreements, concerts and expectations will change. Member States will not change. The vows and obligations of Kosovo and Serbia will not go away. All will expect the capacities and will of Kosovo's prime minister and the president of Serbia to ensure better European future for their people”, he said in a statement prior to the meeting.
Borrell has said that normalising reports between Kosovo and Serbia is at the heart of EU commitment to the Balkans, as well as that normalisation is closely linked to the road to membership in the bloc.
